Master the Art of Difficult Conversations (Branching Scenario)

Master the Art of Difficult Conversations

Audience: People Managers
Industry: General
Topic: Communication
Tools: Adobe Captivate

Train people managers how to successfully work through difficult situations with employees. Provide opportunities for learners to practice de-escalating difficult situations with employees. People managers are located across the United States and will need to take the training outside of traditional business hours.

Methodology: Used Ruth Colvin’s Clark branching, scenario-based instructional design model (also called 3C) to structure the course. Learners have the opportunity to practice responding to several real-world scenarios and seeing the real consequences of their choices. This model allows learners to practice handling sensitive situations in a safe environment. The 3-C model includes a challenge, three choices and three consequences for each scenario.

Interactivity and Assets: The major part of the interactive are the three branching scenarios. The module also includes voice-over narration, text and image components.

Tool: Used Adobe Captivate to create the module. Used advanced actions to create the branching paths within Adobe Captivate.

Launched using a learning management system.
